The film is based on the memoirs of British journalist Toby Young and his experiences of working in New York for the celebrity focused magazine 'Vanity Fair'. Simon Pegg plays the role of Sidney Young a British journalist hired by an upscale magazine in New York City, who in a spectacular fashion burns bridges with his peers, boss and A list superstars! Character Sidney Young then tries to bond with his peers and make amends at a black tie dinner but instead insults and finds creative ways to annoy everyone.
