The entire star studded event was hosted by L.A based singer songwriter, Katy Perry, who spoke to MTV about her hosting duties moments after closing the show.
'I’ve loved it was so fun! I made it through… I’m excited and I hope that it looked good.'
Katy added, 'I’m still breathing heavily because of the 12 costume changes - I’ll have the 13th for the after party.'
The hostess also commented on her performance of I Kissed A Girl, 'Riding the ‘cherry Chap Stick’ was an amazing feeling! I’ve never had production like that before!'
Katy also performed her latest single Hot n Cold to close the MTV Europe Music Awards 2008.
Despite her absence Britney still managed to steal the spot light as she was awarded with Act of 2008 and Album of the Year, shadowing our very own Leona Lewis, Coldplay, Amy Winehouse and Duffy.
Despite being this years fourth fastest selling artist this year Leona Lewis walked away empty handed, unbelievable!
