The claws are out in celebrity bitchville as Katy Perry falls victim to the acidic tongue of Lilly Allen.
Lilly Allen created waves across the pond when she first hit out at the I Kissed A Girl singer, accusing her of copying her musical style and that she should 'shut up'. The British singer accused record bosses of manufacturing Katy into an American version of herself, 'I happen to know for a fact that she was an American version of me. She was signed by my label in America as, 'We need to find something controversial and kooky like Lily Allen'. And then they found her.' she said.
She then told Capital FM that the American's lyrics were 'crass' and claims Katy doesn't write her own material,
'When I met her I was bit frosty with her because someone asked her to describe herself. She's like, 'Aha, I'm like a fatter version of Amy Winehouse and a skinner version of Lilly Allen!'.
'It's like, you're not English and you don't write your own songs, shut up!'.
Katy Perry has since apologised for the remark. 'Yeah, I made a joke about (that) earlier this year,' said Katy. She then went on to say 'I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny. I didn't mean anything by it. Comedians are not necessarily to be taken super seriously.'
