The celebrity couple are said to be getting married on their daughter Harlow's first birthday.
Nicole has been dating the Good Charlotte vocalist for two years and is eager to tie the knot on the landmark date.
A friend of the couple told OK Magazine, 'They want to set an example for Harlow. Nicole and Joel are doing this to seal their love legally.
'They want the ceremony to coincide with Harlow's first birthday and be one big joyous occasion for everybody.'
Their daughter Harlow was born in January this year and her birth has had a calming effect on the former socialites life, Nicole previously told OK,
'I'm happier now than I have ever been. I know I made some mistakes in the past, everyone knows, but that's all in the past now.
'I love my life and my family and I wouldn’t do anything to jeopardise that. The moment Harlow was born, everything changed.'
The 27 year old says that the wedding will be no secret, Nicole wants the whole world to know about their love for one another.
'When we get married, everyone will know. It will happen when it happens.'
